About the journal

The Journal of Transdisciplinary Environmental Studies (TES)
The Journal of Transdisciplinary Environmental Studies focuses on transdisciplinary environmental studies of relevance to planning and regulation. The target group of the Journal encompasses both academic scholars and practicing professionals.

The focus of the journal is on environmental issues, especially articles integrating the natural and social sciences in the field of environmental management and planning. Consequently, we will emphasise theory, methodology, and practical experience in transdisciplinarity relevant to these areas.

Subjects for the journal might be: sources of environmental impacts, relative environmental impacts on ecosystems and organisms, environmental regulation, management or governance issues, environmental planning, the working environment, and nature conservation. Environmental management covers issues such as public awareness and participation, communication, innovation, and the role of stakeholders. For further information on background and scope please see Concept of TES.

The journal is approved by the danish BFI and registered/indexed in EBSCO.

Background
Our analysis has shown that transdisciplinary journals covering both natural and social scientific issues are lacking in the field of environmental studies. Transdisciplinary researchers have faced the problem of finding a suitable journal in which to publish their work or read that of others. We find it important to intensify transdisciplinary discussions and explore the possibility of their enhancement with the aid of a journal where articles, refereed by researches of international standing, can be presented and read by interested researchers.

Target Group
We expect that people engaged in knowledge production employed at universities, independent research institutes, in government departments, and consulting companies will contribute and also be the audience. Furthermore, we expect that many transdisciplinary students will find the journal useful for both inspiration and as a basis for defining their scientific identity.
TES has no restrictions on the length of papers, providing texts are concise and comprehensive.
Also they should contribute with original work or practical experience. Some issues of the journal may be devoted to specific themes.
